
George Bush signed a bill on Friday that will allocate $45m to build a 250+ mile long maglev train track. They seem to be forgetting that maglevs are very expensive things to build. Consider this:
China’s Shanghai Maglev Train, in a country where labor’s cheap and private land is much cheaper than USA, cost $1.3b for 19 miles of track, about $68.4m per mile. USA has $45m for 250 miles… Yeah, good luck with that!
