So, a couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine sent off his Xbox 360 for the 4 time (the first that wasn’t a RRoD). He had to pay ~€20 to send it off to Germany, but despite the fact that it was a few days out of warranty, they agreed to fix it for free.
But that’s not what this post is actually about.
Another one of my friends had a problem with his console, well out of warranty but was willing to pay to get if fixed, so called up customer support. The manufacturer then sent out a prepaid express registered post sticker for the parcel to send off to the UK. The console in question was a NES. Yes, the original Nintendo Entertainment System. Granted there was confusion when he first asked if they could repair his NES. I believe the reply was “Is it a DS?”. But after they were clear on what console it actually was, they sent out a letter with address sticker and registered post sticker. It was a great example of brilliant customer services. Makes me want to call Sony about an old model PS1 and see their reaction. I have the weirdest feeling I wont get the same response as Nintendo.

That is freakin awesome! *routes out broken nes*
It’d be quite funny if Nintendo got a sudden influx of broken NES consoles
