SanDisk have somehow managed to convince top labels, including Universal, Sony BGM, Warner and EMI, to distribute new albums on their new slotMusic platform… Albums on 1GB microSD cards. You know, those tiny little memory cards which you accidentally swallow if your not careful? Yup, them!
Each album will cost $7-10. This is surprising considering a 1GB microSD card costs $8.50, and the albums will come a USB adapter.
slotMusic albums will be available in Walmart and Best Buy in USA soon.

microSDs are practically invincible to general wear and tear, so this is great in my opinion! Should have happened years back in my opinion though. Also, a computer app which can rip the tunes will no doubt be developed should copy protection rear it’s spotty undeveloped head.
It wont rear its head. Sandisk despises drm and wont put it on. They realise they would make a big fat 0 if they added it.
Also stuff like this has been done before. Not an sd card but recently Irish artist Dave Browne released his windows to the soul album on a credit card sized usb.
